Always remember that it's never too early in the semester to cry under your desk, grieve your lost choices, or rethink your life.
If I were to talk that way to a student, in any medium, ever, electrodes would be attached to my gentles and 4000 volts put through them. It's no damn wonder my students get such a skimpy education: faculty dare not be honest with students, because they are resisting with all their might.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true! My "gentles" would not be pleased about the voltage. They're resisting with all their might in part because they simply can't handle the honesty. They're used to their snowplow parents pushing everything out of their way, they can't handle the slightest bit of adversity.
