At my joint they really care about this...the rate is from 75% for the weaker programs, up to the very high 90s for the stronger ones.
ReplyDeleteThe numbers aren't the whole story, of course. Our students' rating of our program (high 90s for job-placement) is extremely high at the point of graduation, but there's a 6-month and 2-year follow-up (with pretty good response rates) that suggest what we offer isn't as relevant as it might be.
Some of the images in the linked article are quite lovely. At its best, Batshit U looks like the architect hated his job...
I immediately noticed two things: (1) a number of these schools are engineering or medical-sciences schools of one kind or another, and (2) I've honestly never heard of 44% of them. Most of the latter group are apparently outperforming some much better-known schools in their respective states on this particular measure. For example, I think I see exactly 4 flagship state universities on this list. Very interesting.
