Georgia Tech police kill student in apparent suicide-by-cop.
This is tragic all 'round. I feel for the student, who was apparently dealing with serious depression, and their family, and also for the police officers involved (though I do wonder why their training, and the tools/weapons they're issued, doesn't focus much more on methods that are likely to result in everybody involved leaving the scene of a confrontation alive. That, rather than control or compliance or a speedy resolution, seems like the most important goal in such situations).
