  1. I was going to mention the student I have who writes like an AI Chatbot, but then I thought that, frankly, I doubt anything my online life has ever produced could pass the Turing test.

  2. I agree with this teacher that we are going to have to adapt to this shit. It has never been useful to swim against the current when the current is computing, and to try otherwise is to do more than elicit eye rolls of "Who is this old fogey": the education one is attempting to impart will become simply irrelevant.

    Perhaps hand-written, short bits of writing done in class might make a comeback? But of course, since they stopped teaching penmanship long ago, good luck with reading them.

  3. When I was in high school, we also had a woman who returned to school after 20 years. As a science nerd ensconced in my cozy, little bubble and with little life experience outside of it, I wondered: that girl in the varsity jacket is different, somehow. Still, I liked them different. Much hilarity ensued when I asked her out on a date.
