For the first time in school history, College of Idaho names co-presidents [idahostatesman.com]

The College of Idaho announced former Treasure Valley YMCA CEO Jim Everett and former TitleOne president Doug Brigham as its new presidents Saturday. It is the first time in school history the office will be occupied by co-presidents.

    1. That would surprise me. What does not (sadly) surprise me is that neither appears to have any higher ed experience to speak of (besides earning a degree or two each some years back). But running a university can't be that hard, can it?

    1. Exponential growth cannot be sustained indefinitely. As Derek de Solla Price observed, "In the real world, things do not grow and grow until they reach infinity." But then, what's the real world got to do with university administration?

    2. I agree of course with FFF. Here, we have a built-in system of checks and balances: for every VP or Assistant, Associate, Assistant Associate, etc we create, we reduce the number of tenure-tracks by two or three. So salaries--or what our president recently described as our "biggest expense"--remains the same now.
